Responsibilities
Department: Survey & Geospatial Systems Engineering Location: Energy Plaza, Omaha, NE Duration: Summer May 2022 August 2022 (With the possibility to work part-time while attending school during the Fall Semester - 2022) Work Schedule: Monday Friday (7:00am 3:30pm) Pay Range: $14.00/hr. - $21, 69/hr. Job Responsibilities:

  • Holds level or rod, range pole, and prism pole at designated points to assist in determining elevations and laying out stakes for map making, construction, land, and other surveys.
  • Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe work performed.
  • Places stakes at designated points and drives them into the ground at specified elevation.
  • Marks points of measurements with elevation or other identifying mark.
  • Able to measure and record angles, elevations, and distances with data collectors.
  • Operates all surveying equipment along with engineering scanning, copying, and plotting equipment.

    Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, exercise flexibility, and take personal responsibility for assigned projects. Specific Field(s) of Study Required: Pursuing Associates in Civil Engineering Technology or BS Civil Engineering Degree - Needs to have completed a surveying class;
    • 2.5 GPA or higher is required
    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
    • Must be attending an accredited college/university

    Technical Ability (i.e. software): Leica Total Station, Leica GPS, Leica Infinity, GConnect, MicroStation and PeopleSoft
